Travian Hint: Travian Hero Unit Selection

When your unit become a hero, the bonus point of your hero should placed on the off or def bonus point rather than putted on offense and defence ability of the hero itself.

Do you confuse which unit is the best to be chosen as your hero unit ? The strongest unit may not the best for you to be your hero selection. There are some other factors to be considered and calculated.

When the off or def bonus point is more important on giving advantages on your attacks rather than the ability of its unit, so we can agree that the unit of your hero might not be the strongest unit.

There are two main consideration to choose your unit to be your hero:

1. The resurrection cost
2. The velocity

The Resurrection Cost

Maybe this is the most important factor to be considered when you choose your hero unit. Strongest unit of each tribes will costly you with high number of resources for the ressurection. We use Teutonic Knight (TK) as our 1st example of hero unit selection. It’s the strongest unit among Teuton units. What happen if your level 20 TK hero died in the battle ? You will need resources as below :

42000 woods

47500 clays

44500 irons

8500 crops

1 19:10:00

compare if you use Maceman / ClubSwinger (CS)

9900 woods

8100 clays

4900 irons

4900 crops

10:30:00

Its only at level 20, what about level 50 ? 70 ? You will be paintful trying to resurrect your dead TK hero.

Teutonic Knight (TK) hero

It will cost you a lot and days.

So, if you are a type of an aggressive player who often send your hero to attack the others with some big hit, I advice you to use the cheapest unit as your hero.

The Velocity

If the consideration is the velocity, then the cavalry unit is the best selection to be your hero. Mainly the Theutates Thunder will be a good choice to be your hero because it is the quickest unit in Travian, the velocity is 19 Fields per hour.

Hint :

If you often use your hero in some big hit action or hammer wave, I prefer suggest you use the cheapest unit as your hero. If you can combine the cheapness with the velocity if more moderate choice.

For Romans, I prefer use Imperian,

For Teutons, I prefer use ClubSwinger or Paladin

For Gauls, I prefer use phalanx or Theutates Thunder
