Travian Hint: Crop Lock
What is “crop lock” anyway ? It’s a condition which your village have big minus crop production due to some heavy attack destroying all of the crop fields and some other important building for the recovery.
It’s very annoying condition, since you have to spend a lot of golds to recover the village. And you need support too from your alliance or friends to help you to recover, if not, it’s almost impossible to recover.
The best and maybe the cruel way to destroy your enemies is by crop locking their villages, especially the capital and the offense villages.

Hint: How to make your enemy’s village crop lock ?
Basically you only need to destroy all of the crop fields and the supporting buildings to recover like : granaries, marketplace and main building.
Crop fields
When you destroy all the crop fields (for normal village is six crop fields), you also paralyze the supporting crop buildings such as bakery and grain mill. They can not do anything without the input, that is the crop fields. They only acts as the multiplier of the crop fields. When there is no crop fields, what to be multiplied ?
Granary
This building is the most important to feed all the troops in the village. Without granary, the reinforcements will suffer of hunger and then die for nothing. Also, many buildings require high level of granary for the upgrading, so you also paralyze the upgrading thing here. Nice shot.
Marketplace
For the gold users, marketplace play really have huge different consider to non gold players. They can NPC the rest of the resources for crops. So to make sure although the gold users, destroy the marketplace also, so that player can not do any NPC thing.
Main Buildings
Some players still able to recover the crops back if they have crops supply from nearby players/villages. Destroying this main building will slowing the process. Main building level 1 cropfield within 30min will take ages to recover all the crop fields.
From some attempts and experience, sending around 6 waves of catapult attack can make a village become crop lock (with around 60-80 catapults in each wave) :
- wave 1-3 : target 2 crop fields in each wave
- wave 4: target the main buildings
- wave 5: target the granary
- wave 6: target the marketplace
Of course, you need to send some proceeding/clearance wave to clear the defending troops. Send hammer size troops in this wave equipped with rams for sure to destroy the wall.
The size of catapults needed is depends on the strength of the target buildings and village. You probably need to readjust above numbers with your situation.

Good post, but I’ll suggest doing this:
1st: The cleaning/clearance wave with 110 or 130 cats aiming the principal building and residence (Palace).
Then I do exactly what you do
Remember that the Residence/palace gives some def bonus.
good one, yes, the residence/palace give some bonus to def point, so you can aim for those too.
