Travian Graphic Pack: How to Use Graphic Pack in Travian 3.5

What is Graphic Pack ?

Brief explanation is, Graphic Pack is a skin/theme. So Travian Graphic Pack is a skin/theme for our Travian game looks. It will change the way we see the buildings, the maps, units or any other graphics available in our Travian game.

Graphic pack also make our browser to open/load the game relatively quicker than the standar way (always requesting to the Travian server). Because graphic pack change the request for displaying graphics to our local drive (eg. hard drive), or if you are familiar, sounds like local web server.

How to enable/use this function in our Travian game ?

Just follow these steps (for the images, I capture it from my Travian playing at my local server, so it will displayed in Indonesian language)

1. Go to your InGame profile menu (at the left menu of your game)

2. Go to the “Graphic Pack” (for Indonesian: “Paket Grafik”) submenu in the above profile menu. See below images for the screen shot about what we are doing here.

3. Download the graphic pack you want.

If you want to use the standar graphic pack, you can click on the “download” link given in the bottom table. If you are looking for non-standar skin/them, you can try my recommend graphic pack: Ambient Graphic Pack for your Travian 3.5 version.

4. Unpack the graphic pack.

After you have download the graphic pack you are interested, then extract/unpack it to your local drive, for example I extract it to C:\download\Travian\GraphicPack.

To unpack/extract the downloaded graphic pack from this website, you will need 7-zip program.

After the extraction/unpacking, you screen will show something like this :

if you double click / enter to the newly created folder, you will show this :

if your screen shows like what I display above, then your extraction step is completed successfully, and you are ready for the next steps.

4. Tell the Travian where the Graphic Pack.

Tell the travian where you save your graphic pack. How to do this ?

Basically, there are two ways you can tell Travian where you save the graphic pack :

A. Direct path

B. Local web server

Direct path will looks like this : file://C:/Travian/gpack/

And local web server will looks like this : http://localhost/GraphicPack/GP3.5-Ambient

For this post, I only explain about the 2nd way: using local web server.

4B. Enable your local web server.

Now, you must enable your local web server in order to use the 2nd way how to tell Travian where you store your graphic pack. You can use either IIS or apache as your local web server.

How to check whether your local web server is running ?

Just type “http://localhost/” at your browser. If something is running, then your local web server is already enable and running, but if you see “Page not found” then it shows that your local web server is not running/enable.

How to setup the local web server might be explained later in the next post.

After your local web server is running, don’t forget to set your extract folder as your local folder in your local web server root by using “web sharing” features in your operating system.

This step to make sure that this path (example) : http://localhost/GraphicPack/GP3.5-Ambient is working well and can be access by your browser. After this path is working, then put this path into the place shown like this image :

5. Final Step

The final, finally, is click the “OK” button there. Then if there is no error, you will see this information :

klik the “Save” (”Simpan” in Indonesian) to finalize the steps. Now your Travian already routed to your local web server to display all the images.
